Local FFA Chapter Named State Champions

The Livestock Judging Team of Lyle Perrier, Corinne Nelson, TJ Mills and Hannah Perrier were named State Champions at the 2024 Kansas FFA State Contests on April 30. H.

Students from Eureka Junior/Senior High School and Hamilton Junior/Senior High School traveled to Emporia on Friday, May 3, for the Emporia State University Special Athletics Track and Field Day.

Despite collecting 17 hits and 16 runs against the Wildcats of Yates Center last Thursday, May 2, the Tornado softball team fell to Yates Center, 7-18 and 9-11.

Glendale Norman Rupe

Glendale Norman Rupe of Wichita, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at his home in Wichita, at the age of 92.

Floyd Zollinger, 66, of Derby, died on Saturday, April 20, at Fredonia Regional Hospital. He was born on June 12, 1957 in Wichita, the son of Ted and Louise (Parker) Zollinger.
