Annual celebration celebrates Weimar history
The Columbus Cardinals continued to navigate their way through the early rounds of the playoffs when they captured the Area Championship on Friday, May 10, at Bulldog Field in Marion, TX.
The Columbus Lady Cardinals played and defeated Jourdanton in the Regional Quarterfinals on Friday, May 10, and Saturday May 11.
The Rice Raiders held their Athletic Award Banquet in their auditorium on Monday, May 6, and several athletes went home as the MVP for their respective sport.

Nora Belle Holleway, age 83, of Columbus passed away peacefully at home May 7, 2024. Nora was a small business owner, loving wife of 56 years and mother of three.
Virginia Ray Glaeser Lilie, age 87, passed away peacefully at her home on May 9, 2024. Virginia was born to Walter & Nola Krause Glaeser on Nov. 7, 1936 in New Ulm, Texas. She graduated from Columbus High School in 1955 and a few months later on Aug. 28 married her love Douglas W. Lilie.
